COMMUNITY RESOURCES
OUR COMMUNITY
Blackford County in East Central Indiana was founded in 1839. Located seven miles east of Interstate 69, Blackford County is comprised of two primary cities: Hartford City, the county seat, and Montpelier, its nearby neighbor.
The people of both communities live and work in Blackford County because they enjoy the rich history and small-town atmosphere. They also enjoy the convenience and access to nearby metropolitan areas. Blackford is also an easy driving distance from Taylor University, Ball State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Ivy Tech Community College.
