Hello Blackford Junior-Senior High School, we hope all of you are doing well. We all know about the Covid-19 improvements that have been made to the school, and we all have our certain opinions on how we feel about them. We have interviewed a few students to tell us their personal thoughts and opinions on these updates.

First student we interviewed was Trinity Adams, a senior. The first question she answered was ‘How do you feel about masks’. And she said “The masks are very unhelpful to stop spreading diseases to you instead of you passing it to other people, and in certain masks, it gets hard to breathe, especially when going up the stairs.” The next question we asked her was,’How has Covid affected you?’ Trinity stated.”I have to be cautious everywhere I go, as I can no longer do activities I would usually do, such as going to the mall with friends, or Walmart at two in the morning. A weird feeling is leaving my house thinking I forgot something, when it was my mask, although it’s a good feeling and experience to know I am helping people in a good way and I would rather do things for other people before putting myself first.”

Secondly we asked Victoria Bartley, a freshman, to answer the same questions and her response was,”I feel that they are necessary to keep us safe and They also are keeping us healthier by lowering the chance of us breathing in bacteria.” then she said.”Covid Has affected me negatively but also positively, It is tough going places as a family because of how large my family is and My mom doesn't like me going out with friends just due to the fact that anyone can have Covid even if they don't know, but It has brought me closer to my family now that I'm stuck at home with them 24/7 but It's also made me realize that Covid is a deathly virus that should not be taken as a joke because you never know how it will affect your family, and having a family with a history of respiratory issues it is scary.”

Jayden Hayes, a Sophomore, was asked ‘How did Covid-19 change your school experience?’ Jayden then stated,”It takes longer to go do anything such as going to use the restroom, getting to classes and so on. Doing online school is annoying and can be complicated at times.” Then we asked ‘How do you feel about lunch times now due to Covid?’ He said,”I don't like how you have to only sit with four people and I don’t know the people at my table. A plus about lunchtimes is that I have extra free time after I'm done eating.”

Ashton Green, a Freshman, was asked ‘How do you feel about breakfast at school?’ Ashton’s response was, “I think the breakfast is good, but they do not have Pizza anymore.”Then we asked Ashton ‘How do you feel about the seating charts on the bus?’ He then stated,”I like it because you don't have to sit with random people. It is just the same person or you can just sit by yourself.”

Last, but not least, we have Carmen Cruz, a Freshman. We asked her ‘How do you feel about going straight to class?’ Carmen’s response was, “It does not affect me too much, as it does to other students, because I have always gone straight to class as soon as I could, although it would be easier to get access to my locker before seventh period, so I could get my things out of it, instead of carrying around a big, heavy backpack for the whole school day.” After this, we asked her ‘How do you feel about the new dismissal procedures?’ Carmen’s response was “I personally do not have any sort of problem with the new procedure, but I don’t really like how the student athletes get dismissed later than other kids, and how early they even start dismissing in general. I feel like I should also add that whenever I go to my locker after I am dismissed, I almost miss the bus due to how far away my locker is from the exit.”

There you have it Blackford Junior-Senior High School, these are the opinions of some of your fellow students on the current changes the school has made due to the Coronavirus pandemic that is going on world-wide. Remember we are all in this together.
