We have some very egg-citing news in the 3rd grade at BIS! Mrs. Carma Reidy's and Mrs. Kari Crouse's classes are on Day 6 of our Chick Embryology program. With the help of Kyli Penrod from the Blackford 4H/Purdue Extension office, we candled our eggs for the first time today. Ten are developing in Mrs. Crouse's class, and Mrs. Reidy has 9 showing signs of development! We are expecting them to hatch around May 8th, and can't wait for the new arrivals at BIS! #BetterAtBlackford

What an eggcellent idea! Students in Mrs. Katie Barnes' 4th grade class at BIS combined an Easter egg hunt with a review lesson! According to Mrs. Barnes, the eggs were filled with review questions to help prepare students for I-Learn next week. She added, 'We all had so much fun!' #BetterAtBlackford

This week 3rd graders in Mrs. Rachael Shadiow's class at BIS have been learning all about procedural texts and identifying the text structure! One of the articles we read was all about making spaghetti. We followed the steps from the article and found out that even if it seems like “3 easy steps” it’s actually a lot of work! 😂 Hard work paid off though and they were able to enjoy a nice treat! #BetterAtBlackford
