It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's a Happy Halloween from the BPS Super SPED Squad!

Our 2nd grade team at BPS made the day fun for students with some of their own Halloween dress-up! (We think they look both tasteful and tasty!) #BPSHalloween2023
BPS had been involved in a coin war this past week! Mrs. Julia Hiatt's first grade class won the coin battle for Book Fair. Coin wars was a way to raise money for our local Hartford City Police Shop with a Cop fundraiser! Each student got to spend 10 dollars at the book fair for a new book! The class also got to enjoy some one on one time reading with the Hartford City Police Officers! What a great day!
We appreciate the hard work and kindness of our BPS students and the HCPD! #BruinProud #HCPD

Mark your calendars, Bruins!
How cool is this? BPS staffers Shalee Myron and Liz Holdcroft worked together to create two communication boards for the playground. Both boards include an English side and a Spanish side. The inclusive boards allow for all students to effectively communicate their wants/needs on the playground!

We need your help. When you come to Wednesday night's BJSHS Choir Concert, BRING CASH!
Yes, the concert is free to the public, but we will be collecting CASH for needy families for the holidays. Come out and enjoy a fantastic concert and help your fellow Bruins in the process!
Check out the handiwork of Mr. Rich Uggen's 7th Grade Manufacturing class at BJSHS. The students are showing off the coat racks they made this term. According to Mr. Uggen, they did everything by hand – no power tools. They used a hand saw, bit brace, and hand drill (like an old egg beater) to cut and drill their holes. Then they sanded, and sanded, and sanded starting with 80 grid and ending with 220. They glued in their pegs; and then applied a light stain followed by a polyurethane finish. Nice work students!
